#23- I’m Sorry . . .
An open letter to men.
I’m sorry I’ve spent so much time telling you that you need to get your act together. You already know that. You’re looking for someone to teach and show you how.
I’m sorry I haven’t been your biggest cheerleader. Celebrating all of the good stuff you do that never gets noticed or talked about.
I’m sorry I got preachy when I should have humbly admitted “this is how I screwed up” so you don’t have to make the same mistake.
I’m sorry I haven’t stood up for you when the world attacked you for merely being a man.
I’m sorry you’ve lost out on opportunities because of a lot of people’s prejudice against men.
I’m sorry you’ve either decided to quit or are on the verge of giving-up. Please don’t. Give it one more try. I promise I’ll do a better job of helping, teaching, and encouraging you.
I’d like to say I’m sorry life is hard for you because you're a man, but that’s how it is. What we have to do is band together as allies. Protecting, supporting, standing up for each other.
Can I count on you?
